workflow
Hi,
I was wondering if you could answer a question for me? I followed the workflow as below. I shot footage on a Panasonic AG DVX100 a in 24p mode ( not 24 p advance) I am using FCP with a 29.97 timeline and plan to out put to DVD. I have a couple of questions:
1- If you remove pulldown for After Effects and your composition consists of say three clips of 24p footage. I understand to remove the pulldown for each clip, but when you go to render it out which phase would you put back in if they were all different?
2- I under stand the removal of the pulldown, but doesn’t transfer from a 29.97 timeline for output to NTSC DVD take care of that?
3- I’m using the Dv,DVCpro codec should I be using the animation codec. I read that you don’t have to render the DV/DVCpro codec and it has a low recompression rate.
Thanks for any help you can give me,
Carl
1. capture footage
2. edit the footage (making sure not to cut on any SPLIT frames)
3. export sections of footage you want to work in AE with
4. when the footage is in AE, go Interpret Footage>Main
5. make sure that the Separate Fields is set for Lower
6. hit the “Guess 3:2 Pulldown” button
7. after doing composition work (using a 29.97 FPS composition), render, enabling field render and re-inserting the correct 3:2 pulldown phase
8. replace in the FCP project
