  • Projector for the rear projection screen

    Hello,
What tech data I should look at to make sure I can use a projector with a rear projection screen? Most importantly, I would like to keep it as close to the screen as possible (should be projection angle or something?) It would be great if you can recommend any specific brand/ model. Thanks!

Your projector will need to be able to reverse the image to allow for rear projection. Rear projection always creates a hot spot, so if your projector also supports keystone correction, you can place the projector vertically off-axis, moving the hot spot out of the center of the screen.

    well

there are a few things to think about

i understand that you want a short projection distance.
but use the biggest distance you CAN use this minimize the hotspot.
next to that wideangle lensen have smaller shift range’s
so shifting the hotspot out can only be done with longer lenses.
have also a look at the screen material hi gain material give more
hotspot lowgain material give more light on the back then on the front.

a few things to think about:

what size of screen are you looking to use? This will determine the minimum projector output you are looking for

what is your audience? What kind of venue are you showing at? What are the sources?

Using a short throw fixed lens usually means allowing the corner focus to be softer that normal due to the necessity of short throw. Another idea would be to utilize a mirror projection setup to gain projection distance.
