"If
you were to ask me the most important factor in the success of the
Creative Cow community, I would have to say it has been Kathlyn," says her husband and COW Director of Business Development, Ron Lindeboom."She
set out to build a far better site than the one we had lost in the Dot-Bomb debacle of 2000/2001. It's been nothing short of amazing and I am very proud
of Kathlyn and the way she's played her instincts and followed her
dream. She's a great director and she really enjoys the people that
frequent this site. They admire her as well and this mutual respect is
what I believe is at the heart of the incredible success of this site."
Kathlyn
was born in Alabama and grew up much of her life in the arid desert
community of Trona, California, not far from fabled Death Valley. "Maybe
that's why later when I had the opportunity to move to Alaska, I jumped at
the chance. I lived for nearly a decade on the beautiful Kenai
Peninsula, just outside the town of Soldotna. While there -- in
between bouts of trying to keep moose out of my garden and being
awestruck by the beauty of the Aurora Borrealis -- I worked in the medical testing laboratory in the hospital there, searching for answers to the
medical problems of patients in the area. As a microbiologist, I guess
I've always been fascinated at images and with life itself and that's
one of the reasons I love the Cow site so much. Here, I get to mix my
interest in art and imagery with my desire to help people and interact
with them. Ron and I always enjoy reading comments like those on our
boards that go something like: 'Thanks all you Cows! I can always count
on you!' It's a great feeling to see feedback from those who benefit
from this site and the efforts of the Team here. We have what I feel is
the best Team on the Net in this marketspace -- I don't see one out
there on the Net that can touch it. It's an honour to work with them.
With their enthusiasm and support, we've already gone far beyond what
we ever accomplished at WWUG.com and this site has taken on an aura and
character that we never even dared dream of in our past efforts. For
this, and for the friendship and loyalty that is at the heart of all this,
we are truly grateful."
Kathlyn
is a methodical explorer of all things After Effects. She loves AE and
has poured over it -- and the third-party plug-ins that expand its
universe -- more than any other software program she uses. Lately,
she's begun the daunting task of teaching herself web programming and
while she thinks she knows next to nothing about it -- she's gaining
quite an understanding about what really makes the Net work.
