Anyone who’s worked with digital video professionally knows something about capturing analog and digital video, and transcoding and compressing that video to spec for delivery to their clients. Doing DVD video is no different—MPEG-2 is the codec of choice, and as with any other medium, mastering that codec and striking the ideal balance of capacity and quality is essential to mastering the medium for commercial work. This session tells you how to take your compression knowledge and hone it for DVD, addressing the particulars of VBR for DVD, encoders of choice, and their integration with DVD authoring products.
